After a Tuesday evening kickoff poolside at The Caribbean Resort, eleven women blasted off from the docks of the Lorelei for three days of tarpon fishing during the 32nd Annual Spring Fly Tarpon Tournament held June 11 to June 13, 2008. At the end of Day one there was a 3-way tie for first with Jayne Kilpatrick, Summer Lapree, and Leslie Duncan landing two tarpon each. The docks erupted in applause on Day two when defending Champion Kathy Hoar pulled up to the Islamorada Fishing Club dock flying 3 flags! Grand Champion Jayne Kilpatrick fishing with Capt. Joe Rodriguez remained consistent with 2 releases each of the three days to win the tourney with 6 tarpon released. 1st Runner Up went to Kathy Hoar guided by Capt. Tad Burke and releasing five silver kings. Leslie Duncan, guided by Capt. Billy Knowles, took 2nd Runner Up releasing 3 tarpon.

Summer LaPree, fishing with Capt. Rusty Albury, was awarded Best New Angler with 2 tarpon releases and also High Point Anger for Day 1. Day 2 High Point Angler went to Kathy Hoar, and Day 3 High Point Angler to Jayne Kilpatrick.
